Well everybody exciting times today at Trevoulter, Lilly calved first by 8 hours in front of Frankie.
Lilly has had a cracking heifer by Mighty Prince a stunning Aberdeen Angus who is renowed for producing correct easy calving babies. She started going in to labour at around 11:00pm Thursday night and calved all by herself supervised by Trevoulter Herd staff at 1:30am Friday morning (8thFeb) very easy calving she popped her out and with in seconds Lilly was up and cleaning her new baby. Within 30 mins the little girl was up and try to feed after Lilly realised what she wanted she let her new born feed very well and all was good. After a couple hours sleep, Then followed Frankie she started first stage of going into labour at 4:00am and had a an assisted calving as baby was coming out backwards at 9:30am Friday 8th feb. she calved easy with lots of room and has had a pedigree bull calf by our own stock bull Welland Valley Crusader 5 8x champion. The calf is a bit laid back in true south Devon style! Has had a drink and now sleeping.
